Heat Pump and Forced Air Electric Furnace Tune-up Procedure

 

Start and verify unit operation. Disengage power source. Clean indoor coil. Clean indoor blower. Oil blower motor. Oil blower bearings. Inspect belt, replace if necessary. Adjust belt tension, if necessary. Replace air filter/media. Clean electronic, electrostatic or washable filters. Inspect contactors and relays. Tighten electrical connections Measure volts and amps on motors. Amp electric heat and check stages. Monitor starting capabilities. Monitor operating pressures and balance refrigerant. Check defrost cycle. Verify air flow and air distribution. Calibrate thermostat. PTS opinion on system.
